MCVC2025 Weekend Weather Update

Good afternoon teams and attendees.

We have been working hand in hand with the MCCNO and the City of New Orleans to monitor the expected weather this weekend.

After this afternoon's briefing, we can confirm that the event will still go on!

Below you will find some information as it pertains to weather, drop off and building entry.

Weather Update

The worst of the weather is expected from 2pm - 6pm.
- AM Wave teams: if you are concerned about the weather, our suggestion would be to leave once your final match is completed and/or your reffing assignment has concluded.
- PM Wave teams: if you are concerned about the weather, our suggestion would be to arrive slightly earlier than normal so you are in the building before the heaviest part of the rain begins.
Currently we are on the cusp of the storm, meaning the building is not expecting us to receive the most severe portions of this storm
- We can expect higher winds, lots of rain and a possible chance of hail.

Another update will come at 3pm and should the severity of the storm increase we will contact you with further updates.

Building Information

The building just completed a new roof construction.
The building is a "storm safe" building.
- NOFD, EMS, city emergency management, national guard, etc. will use this building as their base of operations during major storms

There is a public address system that will play through the lobbies should it become a major situation
We will also use the paging mic inside the halls to inform on a major situation
Building will assist with moving people to the correct area of the halls should an emergency or shelter in place come in to play

Entry & Drop Off

Designated Entry Locations:

All exterior hall doors from A to G will be open for entry for our attendees.
If you are dropped off at any hall past Hall G, you will need to walk back to Hall G to enter.
